Greetings friends:

I am writing in search of a web developer/graphic designer to ask a few questions about what it would take to transform my current web site/online magazine to a Wordpress Powered site. I currently use Adobe Contribute to edit the site (see www.sisterspeakonline.com). I'd like to update the site as well as make is more user friendly for myself, co-writers, and for users.

Would love to hear anyone's feedback on this.

Changing to a Blog format is a great move. Wordpress can be customized to fit the look and feel of your current site and extended to provide the functionality you need. There are many ways that you can integrate it into your site. I would start with a formal definition of your site's goals, site map and taxonomy. It is best to begin this sort of transformation with a thorough understanding of where you are trying to take the site. With this knowledge in hand, you can begin the process of customizing Wordpress visually and functionally to fit the plan for your site.

I have only done a few Wordpress integrations, but they weren't that difficult. I have been developing Web sites for eight years, so I am sure I can help. I would be glad to answer any specific questions that you have about Wordpress.
